The Colour Interpreter
Thelma Bregman is a Colour Interpreter, teacher, and creator of the ColourComfort Method, devoted to helping people understand themselves and others through the subtle language of colour.
Her mission is to make colour a practical, accessible, and deeply personal tool for insight, healing, and transformation. Through colour psychology, storytelling, meditations, and training, Thelma guides people to recognise how colour reveals personality traits, emotional patterns, talents, challenges, and subconscious needs - and how conscious colour choices can gently shift behaviour, restore balance, and create greater harmony in life.
More than 23 years ago, Thelma found herself at a turning point. Her children were teenagers, and she felt a strong inner calling to contribute something meaningful to the world.
During a meditation, she asked a simple but powerful question: “How can I help people?”
The answer came clearly:
At the time, Thelma knew nothing about colour or sound. Unsure which path to take, she chose to trust life itself to guide her.
The very next day, while visiting a massage therapist, she noticed a display of vibrant Aura-Soma bottles - beautiful, layered colours that immediately captured her attention. In that moment, she knew: colour was her direction.
Within a week, she enrolled in her first Aura-Soma course. She went on to complete all four levels, while simultaneously studying face and body reading, as well as the deep connection between the body and the mind. She began offering personal Aura-Soma consultations and quickly noticed something extraordinary.
During her work with clients, Thelma became curious - not only about which colours people chose, but how they wore them. Shirts, trousers, skirts, shoes, accessories - each placement on the body seemed to add another layer of meaning.
She discovered that colour choices were not random. They reflected life events, emotional experiences, personality traits, talents, and challenges. When people went through significant emotional moments, their colour preferences often changed - sometimes subtly, sometimes dramatically.
Colour, she realised, was speaking.
And she had learned how to listen.
This insight led to the creation of the ColourComfort Method - a powerful approach for coaches and practitioners that uses everyday colour choices to reveal how a person has been shaped by life, what their natural strengths are, and where support or healing is needed.
Colour became, for Thelma, a living language of the subconscious.
Later, together with Mary Ashby-Green, Thelma co-created Colournostics - a simple yet remarkably accurate toolkit for coaches. By answering just five questions using colour, clients and coaches gain insight into the core issue, the emotional blockage, and what the subconscious is ready to change or achieve.
Once again, colour proved itself as a direct, intuitive bridge between the conscious and subconscious mind.
Today, Thelma continues to share her work through Colour Stories, Colour Experiences, and online training, helping people reconnect with their inner wisdom and receive personal messages from their own subconscious - without analysis, force, or fixing.
Her work gently reminds us that when we raise our own vibration, we naturally influence those around us - and that through small, conscious choices, we can create a ripple effect that extends far beyond ourselves.
